Capabilities and Resources
The Research & Development Group is involved in medical device
research and development - both self-initiated and collaborative.
Research collaborations include Flinders Medical Centre clinical
departments, Flinders University School of Medicine and School of
Informatics and Engineering, and the medical device industry.
The R&D group has extensive mechanical,
electronic and programming resources to enable
complete development for novel clinical and research medical devices
from original conceptualisation and design through to the manufacture
of a pre-production prototype. Specialist areas include: medical
electronics, optics, pneumatics, mechanical & surgical instrumentation,
toolmaking.
