Module 1 Biomedical Engineering Training in Malaysia 2004

 

A short course Modular Biomedical Engineering Training program was developed for Asia in collaboration with ECRI with six modules of 5 days duration each. The intensive Module 1 training course was run jointly by FBE and ECRI in Malaysia for one week in November 2004.

Module 1 topics included:

ECRI
  • Overview of hospital based patient diagnosis and treatment
  • Medical terminology used by clinical, nursing and scientific personnel
  • Description of engineering principles employed in medical device design
  • Operations and maintenance of infusion devices, aspirators and pulse oximeters

Participants with six tutors and two lecturers

Upon completion of the module, participants did a short examination and were awarded a certificate. Upon successful completion of all six training modules a certificate of achievement will be awarded by ECRI and FBE .
